The Lowcountry is one of the most beautiful places in the country to get married or host a festival. But many of the best venues, from marsh-side barns to beachfront lawns, have something in common: very little cold storage. That is where a refrigerated trailer rental comes in.
What is a refrigerated trailer rental?
It is a portable walk-in cooler. We deliver it to your venue, set it up and park it where you need it. It cools down to -10°F and can be set to whatever your items need, frozen or just chilled. It runs on a standard 110V, 20A outlet and fits in a standard parking space. If there is no power on site, a generator is available for an extra fee. Our trailers come in three sizes, 5x10, 7x12 and 7x16, so you can match the trailer to your event. See the size guide for more.
Why weddings need extra cold storage
- Catering. Rustic and outdoor venues often have no walk-in. Caterers get a dependable place to stage salads, seafood and desserts.
- Flowers. Lowcountry heat is hard on bouquets and centerpieces. Cool storage keeps them fresher until the last dance.
- Drinks and ice. One cold spot beats a dozen scattered coolers, and extra ice stays frozen instead of melting in the sun.
- The cake. Buttercream and Southern humidity do not mix.
Why festivals use refrigerated trailers
Festivals and concerts face the same problem on a bigger scale. A trailer can serve as backup cold storage for food vendors, an ice and beverage depot for bars and concessions, secure overnight storage for multi-day events, and a fallback if an on-site cooler or freezer fails. Cold food generally needs to stay at 40°F or below, which is hard with coolers alone on a hot day.
How to choose the right size
- What are you storing? Food, drinks, ice, flowers or all of them?
- How long is the event? One evening or a whole weekend?
- How many vendors need access?
- Where will it park? Look for level ground close to the service area.
Not sure? Call or text and we can help you size it. When you are between two sizes, the larger one tends to be the more comfortable choice, since extra space is easier to use than to add.
Tips for a smooth event day
- Spring and fall are busy seasons in the Lowcountry, so lock in your date early.
- Talk to your venue about parking and where the power outlet is.
- Loop in your caterer and florist so everyone knows the plan.
- Pair it with ice delivery so the bar stays stocked. Our event ice sizing guide shows how to plan the numbers.
